One of the most essential represses of the year, coming from none other than Underground Resistance. This EP brings some serious dance floor heat coming from four of UR’s best cuts, all on one 12”. The original World 2 World release hit the shelves just after Jeff Mils left UR, and proved to be a significant turning point in the label’s lineage. Along with Amazon (an end of the night anthem), Jupiter Jazz is a particular favourite of mine, sounding like a more melodic version of the rave inspired X-101 vision by Mad Mike, Robert Hood and Jeff Mills in the early 90’s, but still creating an end product that makes your hair stand on end as you are taken on a journey to outer space. The jellied acidic blips and euphoric vocal samples completely compliment the spontaneous synth lines, confirming that even 14 years after the original release, it still sounds way ahead of its time. Production of the highest calibre from Mad Mike, be sure to give the whole EP a listen.
