In recent years Dusky have become a staple name on the UK and international dance music scene. The world-conquering duo’s meteoric rise has seen them headline clubs all over the globe, from Panorama in Berlin to Fabric in London, whilst all the while running their own imprint 17 Steps. What is particularly impressive about their melodic yet punchy brand of deep house, is that in a genre in which artists could arguably be scrutinised for sounding too much like one another, Dusky have managed to preserve their unmistakeable identity. Though some recent releases have perhaps not hit as hard in the underground scene as has come to be expected from them, the pair return with ‘Buckets’, a reminder of what we’ve been missing out on. A tight groove and eerie vocal sample are accompanied by a murky bass line, proving the London producers are still at the top of their game. With Paleman on the refix, this record store day exclusive vinyl release is a must have.
